The BARTI Scholarship, also called Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research & Training Institute Fellowship, is given to SC students from Maharashtra who have completed post-graduation, and it is made for those doing M.Phil. or Ph.D. in Indian or foreign universities. About Barti

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Research and Training Institute (BARTI), Pune, is an autonomous institute of the Government of Maharashtra, and it was made to promote social justice and equality through research and training. It was first started in 1978 as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Samata Vichar Peeth, and in 2008, it was made autonomous with the name BARTI. Research on social issues is done by it, especially about equality and justice. Social welfare schemes are checked to see if they work. Policies for helping marginalized groups are promoted. Training is given to poor people to improve their skills. The scientific way of thinking is also promoted by it, so better decisions can be made for society.

Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship has the following eligibility criteria, which must be followed by the applicants to get the benefit of the scholarship:

  • The student must be from the Scheduled Caste and should be living in Maharashtra.
  • A postgraduate degree must be held with at least 55% marks, but for SC, ST or PH students, the marks can be 50%.
  • The UGC NET or any other exam equal to it should be cleared by the student.
  • Admission or provisional admission in a full-time M.Phil or PhD program of a recognized university must be taken.
  • The age should be as per the Maharashtra Public Service Commission rules.
  • No other fellowship or scholarship should be received at the same time.
  • The student must be eligible for exams done by MPSC, and should be a graduate of UPSC, and medical graduates must have finished their internship.
