About Assam Sirish Scholarship Foundation
The Assam Sirish Scholarship Foundation was established by the Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare (TTWD). With the help of this Foundation, the Assam state government will provide benefits to the students whose parents are tea tribe workers. Students who belong to tea tribes and Adivasi communities are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship introduced by the Sirish Foundation. To provide all the essential information to the students regarding the scholarship, the Assam state government has introduced a dedicated portal that allows the students to apply for the scheme online.

Pre-Matric Scholarship
The Assam state government has launched the Sirish pre-matric scholarship 2025. The Assam state government launched this scholarship to help students to belong to the tea tribe and Adivasi community studying in classes 9th and 10th. All the students who have an annual income of less than INR 5 lakh are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship. Under this scholarship, the financial assistance of INR 3000 will be given to the selected students per year.
Eligibility Criteria
- The students must be permanent residents of Assam state and belong to the tea tribe and the Adivasi community.
- The annual income of the students must not exceed INR 5 lakh.
- All children of the same parents/guardians are eligible.
- Students studying through a correspondence course are also eligible to apply.
- The scholarship holder under this scheme shall not hold any other scholarship/stipend disbursed by any government. Department.
- In no case shall students applying repeatedly from different Sub-Divisions be considered for the scholarships. Students who are also undergoing coaching in any of the pre-examination training centers with financial assistance from the Government will not be eligible.
- In case of detained students, he/she shall not be eligible to apply for a scholarship for the same class twice.
Post Matric Scholarship
The Assam state government has launched the Sirish post-matric scholarship 2025. The Assam state government launched this scholarship to help students to belong to the tea tribe and Adivasi community pursuing higher education. All the students who have an annual income of less than INR 5 lakh are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship. Under this scholarship, the financial assistance of INR 5000 will be given to students studying in classes 11th and 12th, and INR 7000 for students pursuing a 3-year degree.
Eligibility Criteria
- The students must be permanent residents of Assam state and belong to the tea tribe and the Adivasi community.
- The annual income of the students must not exceed INR 5 lakh.
- All children of the same parents/guardians are eligible.
- Students must be pursuing Three Years Degree Courses (BA, BBA, B.Com, B.Sc, Integrated Graduate + Post Graduate courses like integrated MBA/BA-LLB/BA-B.Ed./MSW, etc.).
- The scholarship holder under this scheme shall not hold any other scholarship/stipend disbursed by any government. Department.

Simon Sing Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship
The Assam state government launched the Simon Sing Horo Special Post Matric Scholarship. Under this scholarship, the Assam state government will provide one-time financial assistance to the students. All the students should have passed HSLC examinations from SEBA or an equivalent educational board recognized by the Govt. of Assam, and HSSLC examinations are eligible to available the benefits. The one-time grant of INR 10000 will be given to the selected students.
Eligibility Criteria
- The students should have passed HSLC examinations from SEBA or an equivalent educational board recognized by the Govt of Assam and HSSLC examinations from AHSEC or an equivalent educational board recognized by the Govt of Assam during the current year.
- The student must provide admission receipts proving continuation of his/her studies in the next level.
- The candidate must be a permanent resident of Assam and must belong to the Tea Tribes and the Adivasi Community.
- The applicant must produce a valid Caste certificate, which is duly certified/issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district or his/her designated officer.
- The incentive shall be paid irrespective of the number of students per family passing the HSLC/HSSLC examinations in a year.
- The candidates applying for this incentive scheme shall also be eligible for normal Post-Matric Scholarship, Financial Assistance for Higher Studies, and Financial Assistance for ANM/GNM/Technical Courses, if eligible, in the same year.
Financial Assistance for Higher Studies
The Assam state government launched the Financial Assistance for Higher Studies. All the students who are pursuing MBBS and BDS will receive financial assistance of INR 35,000 per year. Students pursuing an MBA and an MSc degree will receive financial assistance of INR 30,000 per year. Students who are pursuing BSc nursing and other postgraduate degrees will receive financial assistance of INR 25000 per year.
Eligibility Criteria
- The students should be permanent residents of Assam and must belong to the Tea Tribes and Adivasi community.
- The students must produce a valid Caste certificate, which is duly certified/issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the concerned district or his/her designated officer. Undertaking on the annual family income stating that it does not exceed INR 5.00 lakh per annum to be submitted by the Parent / Guardian (Annexure – 1).
- Students studying through a correspondence course are also eligible to apply.
Financial Assistance for ANM/GNM/ Technical Courses
The Assam state government has launched the Financial Assistance for ANM/GNM/ Technical Courses. Under this scholarship, the Assam state government will provide financial assistance to the students who are pursuing ANM/GNM/Para-Medical and other job-assured technical and professional Diploma & Degree courses with a minimum 1 (one) year duration in both Government and Non-Government Institutes. The financial assistance of INR 4,000 to INR 20,000 will be given to the selected students based on the course their pursuing.
Eligibility Criteria
- For availing financial assistance under ANM/ GNM//Technical courses, the students must be currently undergoing the courses in a Govt. or Govt. Recognized Institutes.
- Students undergoing professional, job-oriented technical Diploma/Degree courses shall apply with all details of their educational qualifications and the courses for which they have applied for the financial assistance.
- Students who have dropped out or who have abandoned their courses shall not be eligible for financial assistance. Only students who are currently and regularly enrolled in the courses shall apply.
- The Students must be permanent residents of Assam and must belong to the Tea Tribes and the Adivasi Community.
- The angle income of the student’s family must not exceed INR 5 lakh.
Coaching for Higher Studies
The Assam state government has launched the Coaching for Higher Studies. To provide coaching to the students who are preparing for difficult competitive exams, the Assam state government will provide coaching to students under this initiative. Students who were studying for competitive exams in the fields of Civil Services, Medical, Engineering, Staff Selection Committee (Graduate level), Banking (Probationary Officers), are eligible to apply.
Eligibility Criteria
- The students must belong to the tea tribes community or the Adivasi community in Assam state.
- The annual income of the student’s family must not exceed INR 5 lakh.
- For Undergraduate students who are preparing for medical & engineering entrance exams, he/she should be from the science stream with Physics, Chemistry & Biology (for medical) or Physics, Chemistry & Maths (for engineering)
- Candidates must secure the requisite percentage of marks in the qualifying examination prescribed for the desired coaching, based on subject matter and on the available seats.
- 30% of the numbers sanctioned for coaching shall be earmarked for girl students & disabled candidates.
Grants to Women SHGs
The Assam state government has launched the Grants to Women SHGs. With the help of this initiative, the Assam state government will provide financial assistance to the female citizens who work under the SHGs in the form of a grant. The female citizens must belong to the tea tribe or the Adivasi community to avail of the benefits. The grants will significantly enhance the overall income of the families of the female citizens.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Self Help Groups (SHGs) shall comprise 10 – 20 members.
- All members of the SHGs shall be comprised of the age group between 18 years to 59 years.
- All members must be valid Indian citizens residing in the State of Assam and belonging to the Tea Tribes and the Adivasi Community.
- The SHGs should have a Bank account with a joint-signatory provision.
- The SHGs should be enrolled in the respective Block Development offices and Block Mission Management
Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni
The Assam state government launched the Swahid Dayal Das Panika Swaniyojan Achoni. With the help of this initiative, the Assam state government will provide financial assistance to the young citizens to allow them to initiate self-employment. The financial assistance will allow the students to start their own business and provide them with the funds for capital investment. INR 25000 will be given to the selected young citizens under the scheme.
Eligibility Criteria
- The young citizens must belong to the tea tribes community or the Adivasi community in Assam state.
- The annual income of the young citizen’s family must not exceed INR 5 lakh.
- The young citizens must be between the ages of 20 to 35 years.
- The young citizens must have completed at least 3 years in a self-development or skill training program.
