Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for applying under this program is given below:-
- Nationality/Citizenship:- The applicant should be a permanent resident of India and should hold an Indian Passport or any document equivalent to it.
- Education/Residency:- The applicant should have at least studied for 4 years in an Indian institution in the past 10 years and should have either completed their school leaving exam(10th or 12th) or should have completed or be in the final year of their Undergraduate degree.
- Age:- The applicant should be aged between 18-23 years on 1 October 2025 (I.e, you must have been born after 1 October 2001 and before 2 October 2007)
OR
The applicant must be under the age of 27 on 1 October 2025 (I.e, have been born after 1 October 1998) and they must have also completed the academic requirements for their first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2024.
- Academic Achievement:- the applicant should have completed an undergraduate degree (usually a bachelor’s) by July 2026, and must have an academic background and grade at a minimum that meets or exceeds the specific entry requirements of their chosen course at the University of Oxford.
- English Language:- if the applicant is not able to talk in the fluent English language, he or she has to check the guidelines of the Oxford University.

The Rhodes Scholarship will be providing 5 scholarships to Indian students for the academic year 2025-26.
Required Documents
The documents required for applying under this Program are given below:-
- A birth certificate or a valid Passport, which will be proof of your age.
- A valid passport or equivalent proof of citizenship, such as a Voter ID.
- An Official transcript from the College or University at which you are studying or have studied, showing grades achieved.
- Official transcript or marksheet from your 10th and 12th standard or equivalent school/junior college /pre pre-university college leaving Board examinations.
- You will need a complete CV section of the application form.
- A head and shoulders colour photograph.
Financial Benefits
In addition to covering course expenses at Oxford University, the Rhodes Scholarship offers an annual stipend. Scholars receive a stipend of £19,800 per year (£1,650 per month) during the 2024–25 academic year, which they use to cover all living expenses, including housing. The scholarship has a two-year basic term. Scholars may enrol in two consecutive one-year courses during this time, but they are not permitted to apply for more than one one-year course. Scholars may occasionally apply for a third year or longer.
Selection Process
The selection process under this program is given below:-
- Selection for the Rhodes Scholarship is made without regard to financial means.
- The Rhodes team will select the applicants irrespective of their marital status, race, ethnic origin, colour, gender, religion, sexual Orientation, social background, disability, caste, or other irrelevant distinction.
- The applications submitted for the Rhodes Scholarship in 2025 are for entry to the University of Oxford in October 2026; the Scholarship cannot be brought forward or deferred to a later academic year.
- No selection will be made if a sufficiently qualified candidate cannot be found.
- The decision of the selection committee is final.
- The scholarship will be confirmed only upon successful admission to the University of Oxford.
