The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India launched the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India (OCSI) Scholarships 2025. To allow the students of India to complete their higher education from the University of Oxford or the University of Cambridge, the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India introduced the OCSI scholarships. These scholarships provide financial assistance to meritorious students and allow them to study at top universities in the United Kingdom. The students can pursue an undergraduate and a second undergraduate degree in any subject at the University of Oxford and Cambridge with the help of this scholarship.
About the Oxford and Cambridge Society of India
The Oxford and Cambridge Society of India is a non-profit organisation that empowers the young students of India to pursue higher education at the University of Oxford and Cambridge in the United Kingdom. All the scholarships offered by OCSI are based on Equal Opportunity, i.e. the decisions made in awarding these scholarships are not based on race, colour, religion, disability, age (except for the maximum age criterion), sex, or ancestry. The OCSI launches this scholarship every year to allow a few students to travel to the United Kingdom for further studies. Eligibility Criteria
- The students must be a citizen of India.
- The students must be ordinarily resident in India.
- The students must be no more than 30 years of age on 1 September of the year of application for the award.
- The students must be graduates of an Indian university if applying to a second undergraduate or for a postgraduate course (applicants who are expected to graduate in the year of the award are also eligible to apply for the awards), or be from a school in India if applying for an undergraduate course.
- The students must have applied for and secured admission to study a full-time course at the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford. Candidates are required to present proof of admission before the grant of the scholarship, and proof of having taken up residence at Cambridge or Oxford before the scholarship funds are released.
- The students must intend to pursue a course of study that is one of the following:
- Research leading to the PhD degree
- One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE etc.)
- Taught and research-based Master’s programmes of various durations (including M. Sc, engineering, medicine)
- Second Bachelor’s degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status
- Bachelors degree programme
- The students must be admitted to the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford through the Universityโs normal academic procedures. OCSI cannot admit students or assist in this process.

Courses Offered
The scholarship is generally available for any subject, course in the field of study available at the two universities. The level of study includes:
- Research leading to the PhD degree
- One-year post-graduate courses (e.g. MPhil, LLM, BCL, Diploma, CASM or Part III Maths, MBA, PGCE, etc.)
- Taught and research-based Master’s programmes of various durations (including M.Sc., engineering, medicine)
- Second Bachelor’s degree as an Affiliated Student/Senior Status

Financial Benefits
- The financial assistance of INR 4 lakh will be given under the OCSI K.K. Luthra Memorial Scholarship, tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford.
- The financial assistance of INR 4 lakh will be given under the OCSI Anita Banerji Memorial Scholarship, tenable at either the University of Cambridge or the University of Oxford.
- The financial assistance of INR 4 lakh will be given under the OCSI Nirmal Luthra Memorial Scholarship, tenable at the University of Cambridge.
- The Emmanuel College, Cambridge (India) Scholarship worth INR 2 lakh, tenable at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, from Nikhil Sawhney and Sumant Dhamija.
- One scholarship worth INR 1 lakh tenable only at St. Hildaโs College, Oxford, from Ritika Dhamija.
Important Dates
- The last day to fill out the application form for the scholarship is 31st May, 2025.
- All the students who will be selected by the authorities will be called for an interview between mid-June 2025.
- The scholarship will be given to the selected candidates by July 31 2025.

- Candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic performance, ranked among the top by their respective departments at Oxford or Cambridge.
- The scholarship targets deserving students with limited financial support who intend to return and contribute to India.
- Evidence of leadership potential and a clear commitment to social impact, especially within India, is critical.
- Preference is given to those who completed their education in India and have not previously studied abroad.
