The JSW Umeed Scholarship program is an effort by the JSW Foundation to help students who are at risk of quitting school because they lack the funds to continue their education because of a family financial hardship brought on by COVID-19. 247 million elementary and secondary school-age children were impacted by the closure of almost 1.5 million schools due to the pandemic, which increased their vulnerability to child labor and dangerous migration. Objective of JSW Umeed Scholarship

The objective of the JSW Umeed Scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to students who are not able to afford their studies. The program will mainly target the students whose studies were affected by the advent of COVID-19. We are already aware of the loss caused by the pandemic. Many schools were closed due to the pandemic and this also resulted in the loss of education in the country. This also resulted in increase in child labor. The program will provide a scholarship of rupees 50,000 maximum. The annual Income of the family of the applicant should not exceed 8 Lakh per year.

The Eligibility Criteria for the JSW Umeed Scholarship for Undergraduate Students is given below:-

• The applicant should have at least 35 percent marks in class 12^th.
• The applicant should be admitted in any undergraduate course.
• The annual income of the family of the applicant should not exceed 8 lakh rupees.

The eligibility criteria for the JSW Umeed Scholarship for students pursuing a Diploma is given below:-

• The applicant should have at least 35 percent marks in class 10^th.

Eligibility Criteria for JSW Umeed Scholarship for Pre-Primary

The eligibility criteria for students applying for pre-primary scholarships is given below:-

• There is no qualification criteria given for the students who want to apply for a pre-primary Scholarship.
• The applicant should be admitted in pre-primary.
• All genders are eligible to apply under this program.
• The annual income of the student should not exceed 8 lakh rupees.
