The Government of India has launched the Dr Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship for EBC Students, Andaman and Nicobar. Are you also a student of the Andaman and Nicobar union territory who wants to pursue higher education but cannot due to financial struggles? Then worry not, the authorities have introduced a new scholarship for you. Under this scholarship, the students will receive financial assistance on a monthly basis and pursue higher education without any financial difficulties. All the students who want to avail the benefits of the scholarship must fill out the application form before the last date, which is 31st October 2025.
Objective of Dr Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship For EBC Students
The main objective of launching the scholarship is to allow the financially disadvantaged students of Andaman and Nicobar UT to pursue higher education without any difficulty. All the students who belong to the economically backward classes are eligible to avail the benefits of the scholarship. The students must be pursuing post-matriculation or post-secondary courses pursued in the Government institutions only to be eligible. The amount of scholarship available under the scheme depends on the course you are pursuing or whether the student is a day scholar or a hostel scholar. The scholarship will help the students to complete their education easily.

Eligibility Criteria
- The students must be Indian nationals and domiciled in the Andaman and Nicobar.
- The students are Indian nationals belonging to the General category (not SC, ST, or OBC)
- The students must have an annual income of less than INR 1 lakh.
- The students are not receiving any other scholarship or stipend.
- The students must be pursuing post-metric/post-secondary courses in Govt. institutions.
- Postgraduate students are only eligible if they are not doing practice during their course.
- Correspondence/distance learners are eligible for fee reimbursement + INR 900/year for books.
- Only two boys per family and no limits for girls are eligible.
- Employed students with a total income ≤ INR 1,00,000 are eligible for reimbursement of compulsory non-refundable fees.

Selection Process
- The students under the scholarship will be selected on the basis of their clearance of eligibility criteria.
- The students must be permanent residents of the Andaman and Nicobar UT to be selected under the scholarship.
- The students must be pursuing post-matriculation or post-secondary courses to be selected.
- The students must fill out the application form before the last date to confirm their selection under the scholarship.

Application Process
- STEP 1: All the students who want to avail the benefits of the Dr Ambedkar Post Matric Scholarship are requested to visit the NSP website.
- STEP 2: Once the students reach the homepage of the official website, they must locate and click on the option called “register”.
- STEP 3: A guideline form will appear on your desktop screen. The citizens must read carefully and scroll down, and click on the option “next”.
- STEP 4: A new page will appear on your desktop screen. The students must enter their mobile number and OTP that they have received on the registered mobile number.
- STEP 5: The students must enter the captcha code and click on the option “verify” to move on to the next page.
- STEP 6: Now, the students must complete the eKYC process by entering the details that are asked and clicking on the option “next”.
- STEP 7: Now, on the last page, the students must enter all the additional details, including their address, education, and bank account details.
- STEP 8: After entering all the details, the students can click on the option “submit” to complete their process.
