About Doon School

The Doon School, sometimes known as Doon School or just Doon, is a private boarding school in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India, that was founded in 1935 and is intended for all boys. Calcutta lawyer Satish Ranjan Das had the idea for it as a school that was based on the British public school system but also took into account the aspirations and preferences of the Indian people. On September 10, 1935, the school began accepting students, and on October 27, 1935, Lord Willingdon presided over the official opening. Arthur E. Foot, an English educationalist who had taught physics at Eton College in England for nine years, was the school’s first headmaster.

Motive of Doon School Scholarship Examination

To help worthy boys from families who would find it difficult to pay for their education, the Doon School Scholarship Examination (DSSE) was created. Students in Classes 7 or 8 who are male may take the test. To draw in and nurture outstanding guys from all backgrounds the program has been launched. The program will also motivate young men to be morally upright and just citizens. Under this program, the students will receive training for boys to be morally upright and smart leaders to get them ready to join a powerful alumni fraternity. The program will also help in increasing the school’s scholarship fund to support future generations financially.

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for applying under this program is given below: –

• The applicant should be a male student for applying under this program.
• The applicant should be a permanent resident of India to apply under this program.
• The applicant should be between the ages of 11 to 13 years old as on 30^th September 2025.
• The applicant should be entering Class 7 or 8 in the upcoming academic year.

Application Fee

Students are required to make an online payment of rupees 100 for the application through the online payment gateway on the left-hand side or by scanning the provided QR code on the right-hand side of the page.

Exam Pattern and Subjects

The exam will MCQ based and the students will get the time of 45 minutes to complete the paper. The Examination will be conducted online. The applicants need to study English, Mathematics, case study and reasoning.

Financial Benefits

The applicant will be eligible for a Scholarship anywhere around 20% to 120%. The Doon School Scholarship Committee reserves the right to the award of all need and merit based scholarships.
